Sam Sisco

85 years passed away peacefully on March 26, 2020 in Windsor, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Beverley (Barnier) for 58 years. Devoted father to Rosario, Samuel (Janette), Joseph (Norma) and Maria Facchinato (John). Cherished grandfather of Sabrina, Jordan, Jeremiah, Matthew (Daigo), Cameron, Devon, Jake and Baby Franco (2004). Reunited with his parents Rosario (1978) and Antoinette (1980), and sister Geraldine Cardinal (1990) Omer (2018). “Uncle Sam” to Joe Cardinal (Sue) and Anna Magri (Art). Cherished cousin to Bob Prantera and his wife (Carol) (2018), and their five children from Michigan. Special nephew to Aunt Flora Prantera (Luigi) (2003) and her daughter Susie. Close friend to Josie Arnone, Dominic Papa and Stephanie Dupuis. ‘United by the Stripes’ and appreciated by many fellow officials from the NHL, IHL, OHL, OHA, OMHA and CCHA, and his colleagues from the Windsor Public School Board, where he served as an educator and coach for 33 years. Special thanks to RPNs Mandy and Jennifer and the dedicated PSWs and administrators on the 3rd Floor at The Villages of St. Clair Oldcastle residence for their compassion and tenderness during the final period of Dad’s life here on earth. If you so desire, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, The Windsor Goodfellows or The Arts Council of Windsor. Sam will be remembered for his willingness to serve as a volunteer for many local charity groups, most notably, CLUB 240 and The Windsor Goodfellows and his determination to complete the daily crossword puzzle. Trust that Dad will now watch over all of us from his new and well deserved seat in ‘God’s Press Box’ above. A private family funeral and burial has taken place and a celebration of Dad’s life will occur in the future.
