It is with heaviest hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Spyridon (Spiro) Brokalakis on January 7, 2021, at the age of 72. Devoted and loving husband of 45 years to Stella (nee Partsinevelou). Loving father of Sandy and husband Mike Yates, Eugenia and husband Steven Popadic. Proud grandfather to six grandchildren. Reunited with his cherished parents, Michael and Kyriaki Brokalakis of Crete, Greece. Dear brother of Niko and Amalia Brokalakis, Maria and the late Christos Konstadinou, Yiannis and the late Fofo Brokalakis, and Evgenios Brokalakis, all of Crete, Greece. Dear brother-in-law of the late Michael and Maritsa Despotidis of Windsor, Iakovos and Maria Partsinevelou, the late Spiro Partsinevelos, and Antonia Partsinevelou all of Athens, Greece. Beloved cousin (like brothers) to Anthony and Irene Brokalakis, Stathis and Dena Brokalakis, Pantelis and Natasha Brokalakis. Dear uncle of Pres. Ourania and Father Stavros Chatzis, and Sandy Despotidis along with many nieces and nephews in Greece. Spiro was an active and cherished member of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Community of Windsor. His incredible talent of wood carving can be seen throughout the Greek Orthodox Church of Windsor. He truly enjoyed helping in all the church community events as well as assisting the priest in the alter. Spiro had a profound love for his hometown of Crete, Greece. He was a proud member of the Cretan Association of Windsor. Family and friends from far and wide will miss having him in their lives, but shall treasure memories of his gentle, joyful presence, friendship and generous spirit. A private family service has already taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Greek Orthodox Community of Windsor.
