Obituary for Staff Sergeant Leo Berekoff

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leo on March 2, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer at 77 years of age. Beloved husband of 54 ½ years to Norma (nee Cole). Cherished father of Tracie (Darrell Foschia). Adored “Papa” of Nigel and Emerson Stock. Survived by his siblings Harry Berekoff (the late Mona) and Diane Berekoff. Predeceased by his siblings Jim, Ann Kastrukoff, Verna, Nick, and Mary. He will be sadly missed by his son David Majore, granddaughter Randi Lynn and many nieces and nephews. Leo served with the Canadian Army in both Canada and Europe. He retired as a Staff Sergeant with the Windsor Police Service after 32 years of service. Leo was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #255, was an avid golfer and enjoyed travelling as able.

If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation or the Windsor & Essex County Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.

Cremation has taken place. On Sunday, September 13, 2020 reservations and personal face coverings are required to attend a Celebration of Leo’s life between 1:00pm until 4:00pm with prayers at 3:30 pm at Signature Tributes Event Centre 3310 Dougall Ave. South Windsor.
