Obituary for Stanley Diotte

Passed away peacefully on January 28, 2023 with his family by his side at the age of 92, a week shy of his 93rd birthday. Beloved husband of Judy and the late Geraldine (2003). Loving father of Marian Morrone (Frank 2020), Bernadette Campbell (Dan), Marvin (Lucille), Edward (Betty), Roland (Pierrette), Ronald, John (Enza), Joseph (Debbie), Suzanne Kelly (Ron), Vincent, and Charles.

Our cherished Pipi was bigger than life and leaves a legacy that will live on in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition, Stan gained 5 step-children, Teresa Parker (Al), Robert Cleroux, Paul Cleroux, Dennis Cleroux (Allan), late Sandra Cleroux-Kinsley (2021) (Del) and their families.

Son of the late Emma (1989) and Fermus (1974) Diotte.

Dearest brother of Leona Dupuis (2011) (Marvin, 2001), the late Bernice (1936), Lawrence (Marilyn, 2022), Francis (Jeanette, 2022), Lorraine Janisse (Louis, 2012), Annette DiCarlo (Joe), Carol Brush (Irvin, 2013), Leonard (Anne), Clarence (Donna), Roy, Bernard (1975), Donald (1951), Jan Prisley (Dale)(Doug Thompson, 1977), Juliette Bellemore, Pauline Nantais (Rick), and Dennis (2013) (Rose). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Stan was known as the “go to” man. The man of many talents, plumbing, electrical, woodworking, car restoration and the list goes on. He knew how to do anything or would figure it out without Google. His dream was to restore a 1925 Ford Model “T”, he was able to fulfill that dream with the help of his son Ronald, taking it to car shows and winning many awards. He was a great fan of country and western music and movies.

Many years later, Stan advocated to the town of LaSalle requesting and designating a street in honour of the prominent Diotte name. Several years later, this was granted.

Stan was retired from Chrysler of Canada after 36 years of service and a member of CAW Local 444. He was a skilled tradesman, electrician and team leader at Plant 2.

The family extends a thank you to the staff at Huron Lodge for the excellent care shown to Stanley during his time there.
