Passed away peacefully at the age of 102 years on Nov. 30, 2019 at the HDGH, Palliative Care unit. Loving wife of Robert (1980). Beloved mother of Gary (Marilynne), loving grandmother of Chris (Melissa) and Jeffrey and great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Eryn and Connor. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, and also great nieces and nephews. Susan was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Celia Dowler (McCarthy) and her siblings Orma, Clarence, Pearl, Charles, Bruce & Marie. During most of her married life, Susan was a devoted wife and loving mother. In retirement, Susan and Bob wintered in Florida. Susan’s main hobbies were china painting, playing cards with her many friends, attending “Free on Fridays” and playing golf, continuing to hit that little ball until she was 91. Susan also travelled with friends on numerous worldwide trips. She was a charter member of the Paulin Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Aoun and the staff of the HDGH Palliative unit for their care and compassion. On Thursday, December 5th, family and friends are invited to meet at Paulin Memorial Presbyterian Church (3200 Woodland Ave.) from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
