Obituary for Taras Stanislaw Lahoda
Passed away suddenly on Monday, June 12, 2023. Dear father (“Papa”) to Candace (James), and Alexander (Lamia). Beloved son of Wanda Lahoda and the late Terry (Taras) Lahoda Sr (2009). Dear baby brother to Michael (Susan) and Linda (Terry Hamilton). Dear Grandpa of Cameron and Hannah. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by his Cuban familia Idalmis, Roberto, and many others, as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and extended family in Canada.
He will be missed dearly by his faithful and loyal companion dog Cookie.
Terry was born in Montreal, Quebec and moved to Oshawa in 1963. He worked at General Motors of Canada from 1976-2008, where he was highly regarded for his creative thinking, ingenuity and dedication. Following his retirement, he settled in Windsor, ON seeking new adventures.
Terry loved to travel and expand his worldly experiences. With his remarkable intellect and wealth of knowledge, he enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His generosity and warm hospitality were unmatched, but his true passion in life lay in his humanitarian efforts in Cuba. Through countless trips to the country, Terry became a loved and cherished friend to many. He provided essential supplies and necessities to everyone he encountered, striving to create a better life for them.
In following Terry’s wishes, a private visitation and cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life honouring Terry and his memory will take place at a later date in Whitby, ON.
Terry will be remembered for his compassion, kindness, dedication and vast knowledge. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his impact on the lives he touched will remain for generations to come.
