Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Ted passed away on February 13th, 2023 at the age of 86 in Cambridge, Ontario.
Ted’s greatest joy in life was his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Norma. His devoted daughters, Patricia Houde and husband John of Cambridge, and Katherine Rudover of Amherstburg. Loving Judja of Kristina Verner and husband Jeffery of Ancaster, David Houde and wife Jaylene of Cambridge, Gregory Houde of Vancouver and Elizabeth Houde of Toronto. Great-Judja of Kayley and Austin Verner (Ancaster), Jones and Levon Houde (Cambridge), and Great-Great Judja of Alex and Allie Verner (Ancaster).
Dearest brother of Helen Peleshok (Leamington) and the late John, Michael, Eugene, Edward, James, and Olga. Brother-in-law to Vickie Seagull (Windsor, ON), Vyrion Maynard (Alberta), Gayle Waye (Ron) of Miramichi, NB., late Bill Jones and late Emma Greally (Nova Scotia). He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ted was a retired District Chief of the Windsor Fire Department and served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1954 to 1960.
As per Ted’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation is being held at Families First in South Windsor (3260 Dougall Ave., 519-969-5841) on Sunday, February 19th from 2 – 5 p.m
A private Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 20th. As Ted was a lover of all animals, the family requests that donations be made to the Windsor and Essex County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
