It is with deep sadness that the family of Thomas Michael Dowds announce his passing on Friday, January 19, 2024. Thomas leaves behind his beloved wife, Catherine Fung; his cherished sister, Maureen Canfield, and extended family including his stepson, Chris Paul Chamberlain (wife Theodora); stepson-in-law, Stephen Michael Nichols; step-grandson Jason Andrade (wife Candace); step-granddaughter Jasmin Andrade; step-granddaughter Natalie Nichols; step-great granddaughter Eva Andrade; and niece Kim Mineault. Thomas retired from SNC-Lavalin, working as a supervisor in procurement for 40 years. He travelled around the world to work on projects in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Peru, Mali, Italy, and Algeria. A private family service was held at Families First Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Essex County Chinese Canadian Association.
