Obituary for Trevor Postma

Into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour on February 16, 2021 at the age of 51. Raised by the late Donna Shearing and the late Ralph Postma. Recently re-united with his biological parents Irene Lobsinger and the late Paris Romany. Loved by his chosen Momma Zufan Asmalash and her daughter Saba Tewonde. Cherished step-father of Shenika Thomas the daughter of Antionette Mills. Beloved brother of Lynn Postma, Gary Postma, Michelle Postma, and Shawn Postma. Lovingly remembered by his biological siblings Lori Lobsinger, Lawrence Lobsinger, Rob Lobsinger and Jason Romany. Special Godfather of Alexis Solomon, Aysia Foster, Essence Foster and Arya Kapoor. Trevor will be forever loved by many “nieces and nephews”, aunts and uncles, whom he thought of as his close family.

Trevor was employed by the Southwest Detention Centre as a Corrections Officer, a job that he loved and a place where he thought of his co-workers as his “family”. Trevor will be remembered for his many worldwide trips away, both alone and with his friends. Trevor was always teaching himself something new, whether it be paragliding, guitar or a rigorous fitness routine at a gym, and his infectious smile and positive presence was larger than life and always left people feeling as though they knew him. The imprints that he left on people’s hearts left them feeling as if he was their best friend, and that will never be forgotten. It didn’t matter how old or how young, Trevor always made sure he acknowledged everyone in the room with a big infectious smile. Trevor was always the life of a party, whether he was singing karaoke, dancing with someone or sitting in conversation over a nice dinner. Heaven has gained an Angel and we will forever remember our Legend Trevor.
