Obituary for Utnell "Roy" Daley
Passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023, with his family at his side at 86 years of age. Devoted husband to Joyce (nee Sangster) whom he celebrated 66 years of wonderful marriage. Adoring father to late Oswald Lloyd (late Alfonzina), Maxine (Paul), Denise Selina and Rose (Holly). Cherished Grandpa to Chloe, Kayla, Chelsea, Bradley, Jasmine, Dahlia and Azalea. Survived by dear brothers Kenneth (Inez) and Gossett (Thelma). Predeceased by his mother Celeste affectionately known as Aunt Cil. Will be lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Roy retired from General Motors after many years of service. His ultimate joy was cooking for his family. He was always very jovial, laughing and smiling, hence his nickname “Smiley”. He enjoyed traveling to his beloved homeland of Jamaica and teaching his children and grandchildren about his Jamaican culture. He was a proud member of the Windsor West Indian Association and holds many awards and trophies in Darts and Dominoes. Visitation Friday, June 2, 2023, from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Visitation Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 1030 a.m. until time of Celebration of Life at 11:30 a.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Avenue, South Windsor, 519-969-5841 with Live Stream link available. Interment Victoria Memorial Gardens.
