Vera’s apartment, albeit small was transformed into a Christmas wonderland every year come December. Flying in from Calgary to spend time with family, a visit to Vera’s place was a must. The memory of her is vivid as she opened her door in her Christmas sweater and a smile from ear to ear. Always a handmade gift for everyone she knew, with lots of conversation about her loved ones. There was sure to be nibbles offered with the glass of wine. Laughter and hugs were abundant. The most touching was a few weeks after the visit, a letter would arrive in Calgary from Vera.
