Thank you to devoted PSW’s: Whitney, Tammy, Melissa and Julie… and to my many supporters: Lina Sabatini, retired from Hospice; Kevin Masterson, for his gift of music in Hospice fundraising; Florence LeFaive; and Deacon Roy, and wife Virginia, Brothers. A strong, compassionate and independent woman, Vicky leaves a legacy of courage and confidence.

In her early years, Vicky was an active member of Corpus Christi Church; member of Corpus Christi Catholic Women’s League; many ministries within Corpus Christi; two-year facilitator with her husband, Denis, for the Permanent Diaconate Program within St. Peter’s Seminary in London; very active member of the South Windsor Seniors at Paulin Memorial as Community Events Coordinator for 23 years; eight-year Bereavement Committee Volunteer/St. Gabriel’s Church; and, when able, enjoyed golf with her friends within the Ford Girl’s Golf League at Lakewood Golf Course; Roseland Business Women’s Golf League and the Dominion Ladies’ Golf League.

Hospice Fundraising was very near and dear to her heart. Her love affair with gardening was reflected in her personal residential garden as well as the gardens at Holy Family Retreat Centre at Oxley, Ontario for six years.

Former confidential staff employee (Secretary) in the Parts and Accessories Division at Ford Motor Company (Head Office) of Canada in Windsor. Vicky retired from the Executive Offices of the Morgan Chase Bank (formerly National Bank of Detroit) after twenty seven years as an Executive Secretary in 1991.
One of her pet personal benefactor projects was to support the "Ethelbert & District Heritage Museum" in Ethelbert, Manitoba. (her beloved place of birth in 1933).

Vicky is a grand-daughter of early pioneer settlers from Eastern Europe (Ukraine) who were invited by the Canadian Government in 1900 to immigrate to Canada with an offer of a Section of Land to be cleared by the settlers within three years; and at the end of three years, the pioneers would offer $10 to the Canadian Government to receive their deed to their Section of cleared farmland. To honour their memory, Vicky and her siblings have donated their former homestead to the Ethelbert & District Heritage Museum." If you so desire, donations may be made to the "Ethelbert & District Museum, “Ethelbert, Manitoba R0L 0T0, in memory of her Chaychuk family, or to a charity of your choice… possibly Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, the Corpus Christi Building Fund.
