AUSTEN, Walter
Walter, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on March 27, 2014 in Newmarket, ON. He was born in Windsor, ON Sept. 27, 1929. He graduated from Walkerville Collegiate and received his CMA degree from Assumption University. Walter was transferred to Toronto during the time he was President and CEO of Green Shield Canada. He was predeceased by sister Catherine (Graham) Holland, Nanaimo, BC; brother Ronald, Windsor, ON; brother George, Ottawa, ON; son Douglas, Creston, BC; grandson Rocky Campana, Toronto, ON; daughter-in-law Sheree (nee Martel), Windsor, ON. Walter is survived by his loving wife Janet of 32 years; son David (Suzanne Fehr); daughter Cathie (Don) Janisse; daughter Nancy (Rob) Campana; daughter Mary-Lou (Brian) Cheswick; stepdaughters Tracy LeBlanc Beck and Andrea (Dana) LeBlanc Forshner; and sister Barbara Fiddler. Grandchildren Dan (Laura) Austen; Leigh Ann (Alberto) Grandi; Jeff (Jessica) Austen; Julie (Stephan) Pigeon; Taz LaFramboise; Matt (Megan) Janisse; Trisha (Ryan) Lawson; Natalie (Chris) Verbeem; Robbie Janisse; Connor Campana; Kirsten Campana; Kassady Cheswick; Lexi Cheswick; Thomas (Jacy) Austen; John David (Gillian) Austen; Michael (Lydia) Austen; Anthony VanAmburg; Aaron Beck and nine great- grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 12935 Keele Street King City on Tuesday, April 1 at 1:30 p.m. Service will be held in Windsor at St. Clair Centre for the Arts, Riverside Drive, on Thursday, April 3 at 12 p.m.
Service in Lake Echo, NS at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Ponderosa Drive on Wednesday, April 16 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation, Windsor's Pride-Run for Rocky or charity close to your heart would be appreciated. -
