Passed away peacefully on May 21, 2023 at 69 years of age, with his family by his side. Reunited with his late wife Barbara- 2003- (nee Olkowski). Beloved partner in life of eighteen years to Marilyn O’Neil. Loving father of Chantelle Smith (Chadd). Precious papa of Calista and Caislyn. Stepfather of Nicole Dwyer (Dan) and Michelle Hart (Jay). Precious step-grandfather of Claire, Madelyn, Grace, Lila and Henry. Dear brother of Joseph (Christine) and Susan Essery. Predeceased by his parents Julian & Angela and his step mother Marianna. Brother in-law of Teresa (Chris), Regina (Ted), Jannina, Jadwiga and Angela (Jerry). Will be missed dearly by the O’Neil family, especially his father-in-law Leonard and in-laws Jerry (Isabel), Kathy (Mike), Patricia (Dan) and Debbie (Mark). In his retirement from Veltri Tool, Walter enjoyed playing golf and was very proud of his hole in one. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved to travel. Visitation will take place on Thursday May 25, 2023 between 2-5 and 7-9 pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Prayers at 8 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue at St. Anne Church, 12233 Tecumseh Road East Windsor from 12:30 until 1 p.m. funeral mass. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
