Obituary for William Bering
Peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the age 88.
Beloved husband of 58 years to the late Catherine Bering (nee Kramer). Loving father of Laurie Tansey (Jim) and Jim Bering (Ankica). Cherished Opa of Alexandra Gayowsky (Jesse Ziter), Liam Tansey, James Bering (Kat), Adam Bering (Chelsea), and Lauren Calcara (Roberto); Great-Opa of Hayden, Hudson, Evie, Chloe, Ronan and Maxwell. Dear brother of Peter Bering (Audrey). Predeceased by his parents Jakob Bering and Elizabeth Bering - Treisz (nee Geml); sisters and brothers-in-law Margaret and Frank Pelvay, Susie and Nick Binder and Therezia Kramer. Bill will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Bill dedicated many years as a teacher of horticulture at St. Clair College. He loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, the outdoors and his grandkids. He is especially remembered for always having a kind word for everyone.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions made to NSHN Auxiliary Matthews Site would be greatly appreciated by the family.
