Obituary for William "Bill" Raymond Joseph Renaud

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, William Renaud. Born in Windsor, Ontario on October 26, 1946, Bill lived a life full of love until January 16, 2023, at the age of 76. Loving husband to Deirdre for 32 years. Cherished father of Jani (Mike), Lyndi (Ray), William (Stephanie), and Adena (Larry). Proud Pip of Morgan, Adam, Ruby, Cassidy, Mason and Ella. Predeceased by parents, Marc and Pearl Renaud. Dear brother to Joan (late Reinhardt), and Beth (Mark). Caring son-in-law to Ron and Thelma Shields. Beloved brother-in-law to Karen (Darryl), Angela (Scott), and Irwin. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bill left the family farm in LaSalle to work for Ford Motor Co. in the early 1970's through a training program in Tool & Die and Machine Repair. He moved on to join Ontario Hydro during construction of the Chalk River Nuclear power plant to further his education. He rejoined Ford at the newly christened Essex Engine plant in 1981 as an Engineer. He worked on various projects for the V6 engine, including an award-winning redesign of the camshaft used by the company. Bill worked in coordinating operations with other manufacturers across the globe from Japan to Germany and Mexico. Bill's dedicated efforts with the Optimist Club of Windsor spiked a similar passion within his children and family. During his years with the club, he rose to the presidency and oversaw the Optimist Youth Band and went on to win several awards both in Canada and the United States. All who met him and worked with him repeatedly commented on his kindness, compassion, and caring nature. After his retirement from Ford Motor Co. as a tooling engineer, he enjoyed spending time relaxing with wife Deirdre at their trailer socializing with many friends and family. We are sure there will be stories for decades about the fun-loving crazy side of Bill. He will be deeply missed. "I'll love you forever." Donations in memory of William Renaud may be made to the Parkinson’s Society Southwestern Ontario. Special Thanks to the fourth-floor nursing staff at Met Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at the Riverside Sportsmen Club from 1 – 4 p.m., 10835 Riverside Dr E. Arrangements entrusted to Families First Funeral Home.
