Franz, William “Bill”
Passed away peacefully on July 26, 2019 at the age of 88 years. In death he is reunited with his beloved wife of thirty years, Reta (2006). Dear brother of Katherine Bisch, Tilly Huras (Robert) and Mary Kehn. He was predeceased by sisters Ellen Waskowiz (the late Stanley) and Bertha Franz. He is survived by many loving family members including nephew Michael Bisch (Jennifer Abessinio), nieces Sandra Ogden and Laurie Coursel (Norm), grandnieces Elyse and Amber Ogden, Angela (Shane) Rees and stepnieces Sue McLachlan and Heather Mazzotta. Bill worked for C.P. Rail for nearly forty years, first as a lineman and then as a cook. He was a proud and long standing member of the Knights of Columbus. Bill enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings games and loved to bowl and golf and would proudly recount the story of his hole in one.
If you so desire, donations may be made to the Windsor-Essex Cancer Centre Foundation and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Visitation will be on Wednesday July 31, 2019 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday August 1, 2019 at 11:30 am at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
