Obituary for William Thomas Marsden "Liam" Wear

In the early morning of February 6th, 2023, at the age of 27, we lost our beautiful, loving, witty, intelligent Liam. Beloved son of Scott and Leslie (nee Marsden) of Amherstburg. Much loved brother of Darcy and Spencer and cherished grandson of Marilynne Wear (nee Bowyer) and Carol Marsden (nee Gowdy). Liam was predeceased by his grandfathers Thomas Wear and Herbert Marsden, both of Windsor. He will be forever remembered by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Born in Oshawa, Liam moved with his family to Amherstburg at age 3. He attended Amherstburg Public School where his lifelong love of history resulted in him winning the graduation award in history. At General Amherst High School, he entered the OYAP program and graduated from Saint Clair College as a Millwright. His ability as a craftsman led him to work in the epoxy business, eventually being part owner of his own epoxy company.

Growing up, Liam participated in many sports playing hockey, baseball, basketball, soccer, and football in Amherstburg youth and school programs. He loved animals and family pets, and was particularly gifted with a “green thumb” helping out in the garden or tending to his bedroom full of house plants. Liam loved our many family vacations and was equally at home sitting beside the local carver in Jamaica working on a souvenir, snorkeling the reef, or having a seaweed battle with his brothers on the beach in California. Most recently, he had become an avid online gamer and collector of sports memorabilia. Taken from us far too young, he will forever be in our hearts for the overwhelming amount of love and joy he brought to our lives.

If you desire, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex County or the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health would be appreciated. Visitation: Saturday February 11th, 2023, from 1 pm-4pm at Families First Amherstburg, 585 Sandwich Street South. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
