It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother and Baba on January 15, 2024 at 77 years of age. Reunited with her ex-husband Slobodan Djordjevic, Daughter Kristina (2021) and grandson Martez Djordjevic (2017). Survived by her sons, Gary and Robert Djordjevic (Corinne). She is also survived by her grandkids Curtis Wickham, James King, Alexander, Elijah and Rachel Djordjevic. Maria was born in Belgrade Serbia on September 6, 1946 to her parents Marinko and Marinovka Todorovic. Sister to Dragisha, Momchello and Radmila.

Maria was a hairdresser for over 40 years starting her career at The Hair Warehouse and then Renee’s Beauty Shop before opening her own salon called Maria’s Hair Shop downtown on Wyandotte and Windsor Street. She had a passion for Bingo and made many lifelong friends over the years. She was a great cook and enjoyed feeding her family, especially her grandkids. Growing up downtown everyone knew Maria and how tough and strong of a women she was but also knew she had a big heart and would lend a hand to anybody that needed it. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

As per Maria’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held.
