Alitha Emond

Age 88, died at Rose Garden Villa Nursing Home on April 25, 2011 following a courageous battle with Alzheimers Disease. She was born October 21, 1922 in North Bay, Ontario; the daughter of Francis Boudreau and Rosa DesRosiers. On February 5, 1944 she was united in marriage to Ernest A. Emond at Holy Rosary Church in Windsor. Alitha was full of life and laughter. She was involved in many church activities and was a wonderful singer. She sang French and English songs at the Lexington Hotel in Detroit. Alitha is survived by five children; Gerald (Greta), Colette, Michael, Andrew (Leslie), Joseph (Anne), fourteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and her sister Gloria Pillon. Alitha was predeceased in death by her husband Ernest, her brothers Arthur and Armand, and sisters Jeannette Jolicoeur and Mava Boudreau. Cremation services were entrusted to Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Burial of cremated remains Thursday, April 28th at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. All are welcome.
