Alva O'neil

Passed into the arms of the Lord surrounded by her loving family on July 11, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Married to the love of her life William for 55 years. She will be missed by her two daughters who were very special to her, Janet Bezaire, and Nancy Holdsworth and by her son in laws Leo and Perry. Loving Grammie of Kyle and Nathan. Best friend of Joan Brewster. Will be sadly missed by her remaining family members. Alva was a devoted member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church and received the Bishop's Award of Excellence. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society for 40 years, canvassing during the month of April and visiting breast cancer patients. She was employed by the Ford Motor Co. as an executive secretary for 10 years. Also, she worked with the R.C.M.P. as an office administrator. Alva took pride in being a talented seamstress, baker, and bridge player, but her biggest source of pride was her family. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation, Chancel Guild of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, or to Hospice Residential Home of Windsor would be appreciated by the family. A special thanks to C.C.A.C., and the wonderful staff at Hospice where she spent her final days. Visiting on Wednesday July 13, 2011 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Visiting to continue on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 9:30 am at St. Stephen's Anglican Church (5280 Howard) until Funeral Service at 10 am. Interment St. Stephen's Cemetery.
