Passed away peacefully at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital surrounded by his loved ones on September 3, 2011 in his 92nd year, after fighting dementia for the past 3 months. Born in the small town of Pastena, Frosinone, Italy on May 3, 1920. Antonio served in WWII for his country from 1939-1944. Beloved husband for the last 68 years to Michelina Ciavaglia. Loving father of Vince Ciavaglia, Vincenzina (Luigi) Ciavaglia of Italy. Proud nonno of Antonio Ciavaglia, Sabrina Ciavaglia, Fabrizio Faiola. Dear brother of the late Salvatore (Nina) Ciavaglia and the late Tommaso Ciavaglia. Predeceased by parents Vince and Francesca Ciavaglia and parents-in-law Giuseppe and Pasqualina Salamena all of Italy. He will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and close family friends. He was a hard working, warm hearted, caring family man who loved to be in the garden, annually made his great tasting wine, and enjoyed entertaining company with his humorous and joking personality. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Fortuna and all of the Hotel- Dieu staff who engaged their knowledgeable procedures towards him.



Visiting Tuesday 2-5 and 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 4:30pm at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd. East Windsor, (519-969-5841). On Wednesday, family and friends are invited to meet after 10am at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St.) with Words of Remembrance at 10:45 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11 am. Entombment to take place in his town of birth Pastena, Italy.
