Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on October 27, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Loving husband of Donna (nee Hayes) with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage. Beloved father of Mary Beth and husband Peter Smith, the late Maureen (1964), Jackie and husband Bob Donaldson, Brad and wife Mary Beth Godin. Dear son of the late Nelson and Aileen Godin. Precious grandpa of Sean, the late Devon (1983) and Nicole Smith, Chelsea and Chantal Godin. Dearest brother of the late Nelson Godin, Richard and wife Gay Godin, Robert Godin, Joanne and husband Bob Plante, the late Franklin husband of the late Dorothy Godin. Dear brother-in-law of Helen Blackburn and the late Fred, the late Mary Ann Murphy wife of Bernard, and Jim Hayes. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bernie was Deputy Treasurer of the Town of LaSalle retiring in 1988. Bernie will always be remembered by family and friends for his warm smile and easy going ways. He had a passion for gardening, the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings.
