Bryce Rohrer

His race completed, J. Bryce Rohrer passed into eternal glory at the age of 87 on the evening of October 16th 2008. Beloved husband for 62 years to Barbara Jean (nee Furlong); dedicated father of Dr. John William Patrick (Bill) Rohrer (predeceased) and Cynthia Gorski (nee Kudrey), J. B. (Bob) Rohrer (Donna Mulligan); David G. Rohrer (Sally McGuire); and Barbara Ann Rohrer. Proud grandfather to Bill and Shelby Rohrer, Jennifer Rohrer, Mike and Dee-Dee Rohrer, Stacey (Rohrer) and Brian Fuhr, Jana (Rohrer) and Brian Cabana, Laren Rohrer, Mitchell Rohrer, Katherine (Katie) Degnore, John Degnore, Megan Frassetto, and loving great grandfather to Alexandria, Julia, Tyler, Hannah, Michael, Grace, Will, Rocco and Avery. He was born in Stettler, Alberta September 13, 1921 to Augustus and Hazel Rohrer (nee Monkman). After graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, he migrated to Windsor where he worked successfully for over 40 years in the Automotive industry with assignments both in Canada and the United States. In 1942 he enlisted and served as an officer in the British Fleet Air Arm. Following the War he continued to serve with distinction as an officer in the Royal Canadian Naval Voluntary Reserve where he was instrumental in the post war establishment of the HMCS Hunter in Windsor, Ontario. Bryce was a kind, generous and reliable man who enjoyed many leisure activities with his loved ones including, boating, golf, travel, and the arts. Donations to New Beginnings would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 3:00-9:00 p.m. Veteran's Memorial Service under the auspices of Windsor Veteran's Memorial Service Committee Sunday 7:00 p.m. Funeral Monday 10:00 a.m. at Families First Funeral Home & Tribute Centre (519-969-5841) 3260 Dougall Ave. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery. ~ Enter into His gates with Thanksgiving~
