Charles Doherty

Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, November 1, 2008, of a broken heart due to the loss of his wife and companion of 63 years Katherine (2007) at 94 years of age. Loving son of the late John (1979) and Belle (1976). Dear father of Charles (Windsor), Richard (Trenton). Beloved brother of Ken (1995), Leona St. Louis, Frances and Phillip Rilling, John (MI), Jean Zaher (Las Vegas), Marion (Montana), Shirley Goldberg (2005). Sadly missed by 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. Charlie retired from the City of Windsor, Director for Park & Rec in 1979. Life member of the Naval Veteran's Association, Chiefs & P.O.s Mess C.F.B. Hunter, Erie Shores Golf & Country. Charlie was a one time president of Windsor Minor Hockey Association. He was a well known musician (trombone) who started playing when he was 7 with the Salvation Army Band and continued until 2007 with the Windsor Seniors Dance Band. His favorite hobbies were camping, playing golf and music. Cremation was held on November 4, 2008. Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 10, 2008 at 11 am at C.F.B. Hunter (960 Ouelllette Ave. please park in the rear, off of Goyeau). Arch Deacon Ron Matthewman officiating. If you so desire, donations to Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
