Donald Mccabe

Passed away peacefully at Royal Oak Long Term Care in Kingsville surrounded by his loving family, September 4th 2012, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of 55 years to Aline (nee Sauve). Dear father of Mark and wife Sheila, Mike and wife Pat, Michelle and husband John McGregor. Loving grandfather of six grandchildren and great-grandfather of seven great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late William (1964) and Nellie (1979). Dear brother of sisters Jean and husband Jack Cheswick and Pat and Bud Greenwood. Dear brother-in-law of Paul Sauve and wife Linda, Larry Sauve and Debbie Sauve and the late Bob and John Sauve. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, god-daughter Rachel, cousins Ted McCabe and Cynthia Murray and extended family in England and Australia. He will also be missed by his many friends here and in Texas and his loyal canine companion Buddy. Sadly, Don will no longer be holding court in his garage as he has done for many years. Born in Liverpool, England July 21st, 1937, he arrived in Canada in 1948 where he graduated from W.D. Lowe Technical School in 1954. He then married his beloved wife and best friend Aline on July 13th 1957. He graduated from the Chrysler Apprenticeship Program as a machine repair man in 1960, and earned many promotions leading to the position of plant superintendent of maintenance. Don retired at age 55 after 36 years of service. Memorial donations to The Kidney Foundation to honor Don's life will be appreciated by the family. Cremation services were held. Memorial visiting Friday 3-5 & 7-9pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 am at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
