Douglas Austen

Born March 6, 1957 in Windsor, Ontario. Passed away suddenly in Creston, B.C. on Friday, July 8, 2011. Doug will be sadly missed by his sons, Thomas, John David, and Michael, and their mother Lauri, his wife Bonnie and her sons Tyler and Travis, his parents Walter and Janet, and Norma. Doug is survived by siblings David and Suzanne, Cathie and Don Janisse, Nancy and Robert Campana, and Mary-Lou and Brian Cheswick. Also survived by many nieces and nephews; predeceased by his sister-in-law Sheree. Doug moved to Western Canada 30 years ago after growing up in Windsor. He will be best remembered for his love of sports – especially basketball and skiing. Doug was an avid outdoorsman who fell in love with the west and enjoyed his time hiking in the mountains. If you so desire, donations to The Windsor Essex Regional Cancer Centre or Alive Canada would be appreciated by the family. Cremation was held. Memorial visitation Thursday after 10am followed by Memorial Services 11:00am at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841
