Emilia Rossi
September 11, 1917 – December 11, 2012
Passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years. Emilia was born in Atina, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1953. She quickly took up residence and remained as the Ziter family's nanny for close to 60 years. Reunited with late brothers Romeo, Alessandro, Eugeni and sister Gesidia. Emilia is survived by her brother Frank (Edith), nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by Dr. Michael Ziter and Mrs. Irene Ziter, Dr. Michael Ziter (Ruth), Dr. Paul Ziter (Yvette), Mrs. Mary Lee McWilliams (David), Dr. Dale Ziter (Cheryl), and Mrs. Christine Ziter-Labiak (Michael).
Emilia was a cherished member of the family and a deeply devoted "nonna" to the Ziter grandchildren: Jason, Adam, Nicole, Philip, Patrick, Sienna, Bryan, Stephanie, Jesse, Brett, Carly, Michael, James and Jenna. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the care-givers at Oak Park Lasalle Retirement Residence, Krystyn Symons, Kelsie Auger, the nursing staff at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital 8th floor, Dr.Roxana Chow and Dr. Jeff Cohen. Donations to the Canadian Feed the Children would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Friday from 7-9 pm at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. On Saturday, family and friends are invited to meet at Corpus Christi Church, 1400 Cabana Rd W, Windsor, ON N9G 1C4 after 10am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 am.
