Passed away peacefully on March 14, 2011 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Cecilia (1991). Loving and devoted father of Andy & Carol, Fred & Melanie, Mike (2007), Maureen & Sam Corrado, Margie & Chris Rowles, Colleen & Chris Lada, Sue & Gus Hanna. Proud Papa of Steven (Loren), Brandon (Sarah), Freddie (Sara), Melissa (Chris), Michelle, David (Tracy), Chris, Katie (John), Andrew (Cat), Jonathan, Nick, Jennifer, Nicole, Jackie (Peter), Natasha, Nikola and Lucas with whom he enjoyed spending time with. He was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first 2 great grandchildren. Dear son of the late Alfred & Odeanna. Loved brother of Leona, Peggy & Bé and the late Stella, Wilfred, Hebert, Alice & Lorraine. Sadly missed by many family and friends. Ernie was an original member of K of C Council 1453, was a 4th Degree member of the Dean Wagner Assembly, RC Legion Branch 255, Ontario Scarlet Nobels & Ladies (Windsor) and the Windsor Goodfellows. Dad was a veteran of WWII and worked at Bendix for 40 years. Tuesdays & Thursdays were spent with his son Fred and his many great friends at the Legion Branches 255 & 143. His passions included bowling, golf, solitaire, singing and working in his gardens. In the summer he enjoyed returning home to Penentang and in the fall everyone looked forward to his homemade chilli sauce. Special accolades to Melanie & Fred for welcoming Papa into their home for the past 4 years. A special thanks to Dr. Tom Elsdon and the staff of 6N at Met Hospital. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor Goodfellows would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Wed 3-5 & 7-9 pm at FAMILIES FIRST 1065 LAUZON RD. East Windsor (519-969-5841) with Ontario Scarlet Nobles & Ladies prayers at 3:45 pm followed by parish prayers at 4pm, Royal Canadian Legion Service Branch 255 at 7:30 pm and K of C prayers to follow at 8 pm. On Thursday, family and friends are invited to meet after 10 am at St. John Vianney Church, 385 Dieppe, with Words of Remembrance at 10:45 am followed by Mass of Resurrection at 11 am. (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF FUNERAL TIME). Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
