Ernie's pastimes included farming, trucking, landscaping and in 1975 he opened the Sandwich West Golf Range (now known as Hambleton Golf) with partner Dan McKrow, which was sold in 1981. He worked at Chrysler for 37 years retiring in 1988, at which time he promptly joined the Windsor Woodcarvers Association. He was a member of CAW retirees 444 and Knights of Columbus River Canard. Ernie saw the world in "colour" and loved to sing, whistle and play the harmonica but his passion was DANCING! He also loved spending time with family especially when he could play cards or crokinole. Ernie's faith in God was especially strong and sustained him during his final days. A BIG thank you to our family physician, Dr. Berecz, for his compassion and care, especially during Ernie's recent illness. Thanks to the CCAC, and the caring, committed staff and doctors at Hospice Residence; you made the world of difference to Ernie during his last few days as he prepared for his final journey. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Monday, March 26, 2012 from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
