Peacefully on August 30, 2012 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Irene (2011). Loving father of the late Darien Stubberfield and husband Gary, Margaret Hayes and husband Tom. Dearest grandfather of Alex, Danielle and Emily. Will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Betty Hughes and her family Carolyn & Darrell, Jim & Liz, Peter & Vickie and John & Krista. Gene was a true Windsorite, a devoted member of the Windsor Roseland Golden K Kiwanis Club and longtime member of Glenwood United Church. Gene retired from accounting out of Green Giant Canada. He was an avid curler and Blue Jays fan. Gene loved the outdoors and was always game for adventure and travel. Special thanks to Hotel Dieu, Dr. Chow and 4 East staff for their care and compassion.
