Father of Melanie Woodside (David) of Toronto, Anastasia (Stacey) Moher (Sean) of Ottawa. Grandfather of Emily, Jeffrey and Charlie. Dear brother of Walt (Natalie) and George (Nadia). Uncle to Mark Metulynsky. Gene had a lifelong passion for Ukrainian culture and music, and was a talented Bandurist and teacher to many.
