Passed away peacefully on November 26, 2009 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Jean (1992) and dear friend of the late Ivy Gibb (2009). Loving father of Gordon & Nell Boggs of Windsor, Leslie & Pam Boggs of Woodstock, Martha Cookson & John MacNeil of Mt Pleasant and Scott & Mary Boggs of Essex. Cherished grandpa to Geoff & Allison Boggs of Barrie, Brooke & Sean Wessman of Windsor, Elizabeth (Liz) of Whistler, BC, Jennifer of Woodstock, Stuart Cookson of Brantford, Andrew Cookson & Jill Calder, Kathryn Cookson & Adam Sutch all of Hamilton, Brian Boggs of Toronto, Kevin Boggs of Essex and great grandpa to Avery Boggs & soon to be Baby Wessman. Dear brother of Hubert & Muriel Boggs, Betty & William Ward. Predeceased by brother Wallace (Wally-2007) & wife Sarah (Sally-2005) Boggs and by brother-in-law Gordon & wife Harriet Cross and sister-in-law Marie Cross. Survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Barney retired from Champion Spark Plug after 38 years of service as a millwright and also thereafter worked at Complete Packaging before retiring again after 9 years. He was a member of Westminster United Church for over 50 years. If you so desire, donations to the Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital Renal Unit would be appreciated by the family. Visitation will be held Monday 2-5 & 7-9 pm and on Tuesday from 10:30 am until the time of funeral service at 12 noon at Families First Funeral Home & Tribute Centre (519-969-5841) 3260 Dougall Ave. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
