The kindest soul has left earth as quietly and dignified as the "gentle" man he was while here, after a courageous battle with cancer. On March 19, 2011 our Husband, Father, Papa and friend went home to join his son Troy for a long overdue game of cribbage. Beloved husband of 51 years to Kathryn (nee Vetor), loving Father to son Randy and wife Marlene, daughter Kim, and late son Troy and his wife Giselle. Loving Brother to Wal, Leni and Ton of Holland. Predeceased by brothers John and Case Klyn of Ohio and sister Agaat of Holland. He will be sadly missed by all of his grandchildren who loved him so dearly and laughed with him often, Amanda, Meagan, Brandon, Alex, Jessica, Joshua, Julia, Falon, Jenna and Vanessa. His sense of humour and love for his grandchildren will remain with them forever as a shining example of how to be a husband, father and grandfather. Gerard came over from Holland at the age of 18 and worked very hard to build a beautiful family and home. He spent the majority of his career with Windsor Hydro, building wonderful memories, lasting friendships and sneaking in a card game or two with all of his hydro buddies. Special thanks to Father Mike Parent and CCAC nurses Marylyn, Michelle P. and Michelle H. He will be forever missed by the many lives he touched. In kindness, donations to the Troy Klyn Memorial Law Enforcement Torch Run supporting Special Olympics would be appreciated. Visiting Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. & Wednesday 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Prayers Wednesday 8 p.m. Funeral Thursday 9:15 a.m. from Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841 to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
