With much sadness, yet grateful hearts we share the loss of our father on April 5, 2011 at the age of 89 years, born in Slovakia. Loving husband of 55 years to the late Martha Stefko (nee Stevanka) (2007). Loving father to Chriss Stefko, Jim Stefko and wife Jan. Also a dedicated "father" to Louise Palko and husband John, Carol Colautti and husband Larry, Kathie Lewton and husband Stan, Girard Stevanka and wife Heather. Proud Grampa "Jim" to Shauna, Ryan, Matthew, Amy, Jeremy, Tara, Adam, Girard and Heidi as well as 12 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents John and Marie, brother John and sister Maria all of Slovakia. Jim worked at Dominion Forge for 30 years. He always took great pride in his work and great joy in the care of his lawn and garden. Jim treasured his family, always putting their needs ahead of his. He will be missed by his closest friend George Sabo with whom he shared many of life's challenges. His accomplishments through life were self taught through hard work and determination. He will always be remembered for his spontaneous smile. We would like to thank all the staff at Rose Garden Villa, especially floor two, for all their kindness and care. Carmel Church, 4401 Mt. Royal Drive after 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
