Passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side on November 28, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Loving husband to Gertrude (nee Lay) with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. Cherished father to Trudy and Don Abrash of Essex, Hilda and Rick Andrews of St. Marys and Jack and Ingrid Lay of Kanata. Precious Otta to Lesley, Helen, Jennifer, Arturo, Daniel and Thomas. Dear son to the late Gotlieb and Anna Lay of Windsor. Beloved brother to Elisabeth Wilhelmer of Windsor and her family. Jack retired in 1983 after 33 years as Electrical Foreman and Supervisor with Ontario Hydro. Jack's family would like to send a very special thank you to the staff at Royal Oak Kingsville for the wonderful care he received and the kindness and compassion shown to our father and to our family. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Jack would be appreciated. A private family graveside service was held at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
