Jane Bateman

Passed away on December 22, 2012 at the age of 103. Loving wife to the late Robert (Bob) (1953). Beloved mother to Margaret and husband Joe Wojtowicz and the late Beth (2009) wife to Clark Cooper. Steadfast grandmother to Kathe wife to Craig Allan, the late Jennifer (2011) and Brian Brimner, Rob husband to Liz Wojtwicz, Scott husband to Amy Cooper, Joanne Wojtowicz and Mark Stegman, Michael and wife Dorothea Wojtowicz. Special great-grandmother to Shannen, Erika, Owen, Jordan, Benjamin, Andrew, Victoria, Mara and Graham. Dear daughter to the late Dr. James Wilbert Brien and Josephine (Staples) Brien. Dear sister to the late Dr. Francis (Frank) Brien husband to the late Mildred and Marguerite and Dr. Wilbert Brien husband to the late Ruth. Jane will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in Canada and England. Jane was a graduate from the University of Toronto, Victoria College in 1932 and the College of Education, Toronto 1933. Jane was a faculty member of Patterson Collegiate Institute 1934-1940, a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi since May 1937 and a member of Temple Baptist Church, now Banwell Community Church. Jane's contributions continued, as most recently, she was a speaker at the Elder Abuse Awareness Day in Windsor. If you so desire, memorial donations to the Banwell Community Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Wednesday 3-5, 7-9 p.m. Funeral Thursday 10:00 a.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
