Peacefully, on July 28, 2011, in his 86th year, at his home in Russell Woods, while family prayed with him. Beloved husband of 66 years of Pauline (St. Pierre). Loving father of Paula (ISM), Margaret (Robert Labute), Marilyn, Judy (Robert Rutemiller), Christine (Joseph Santagapita), Gregory (Norma Bell), Jerry (Donna Fortier). Dear Grandfather of Andrew, Sara (d.1982), Natalie (David Meloche), and Aimee Labute; Nicole (Bradley Mills), Christine, Mark, Jennifer (Paul Gilbert) and Elizabeth Rutemiller; Claudia (Jason Spieren) and Matthew Santagapita (Tara Nash); Stephen (Dominika Gidzinski), Pauline (Sean Anderson) and Genevieve (Loren Padelford) Marcotte; Adam (Erin Reynolds), Erin, Emily (Carmine Scandale) and Meghan Marcotte.Loving great-grandfather of Breanna, Emma, Ethan, Hannah, Bridget, Claire, Nicolas, Sophie and Brielle. Predeceased by his parents, Oswald and Claire (Blonde) Marcotte, and by his brother, Paul (d. 1982) (Doreen Langlois). Survived by his sister Patricia (George Sinclair), of Colgan and brothers David (Patricia Marentette) of Kanata and Philip (Elizabeth Hadju). Uncle to almost one hundred nieces and nephews. Jerome worked for over 55 years with his father and brothers and then his sons at Marcotte Funeral Homes in Tecumseh and Windsor, at that time family owned. He was involved over the years in the Catholic Family Movement and the Cana Club. Fourth Degree member of the Dean Wagner Assembly of the Knights of Columbus and member of Windsor Council 1453, (former newspaper editor). Active in local and provincial Catholic Parent Teachers' Association, Ontario English Catholic Education Association; Ontario Funeral Service Association; St. Anne's Parish 1952-1990; (Parish council); current member of Good Shepherd Parish. Jerry loved entertaining, cooking for family celebrations and picnics, travelling, bridge parties, and the challenges of the computer. Donations may be made to Canadian Food for Children, Guatemala Hope, or Good Shepherd Parish or St. Anne Church Building funds. Visiting Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-5, 7-9 p.m. Third and Fourth Degree K. of C. prayers Sunday at 7:30 pm followed by parish prayers at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor (519-969-5841). Procession from the funeral home Monday at 9:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd Parish (St. Gregory Site, 13789 St. Gregory Rd.) at 10:30 am. Interment at St. Anne Cemetery.
