95 years, peacefully on January 24, 2012. John was reunited with his wife of 72 years Amelia (2011). Loving father-in-law of Gerry Van Mackelberg (Marlene- 2008) and father of the late John Jr. (1995). Dear grandfather of Debbie Ostoic (Peter), Rick Van Mackelberg and great grandfather of Shaun Ostoic. Dear brother-in-law of Rita Rivard and her friend Joe. Predeceased by his brothers Roy, Joseph and Donald. Sadly missed by his niece Donna, many other family and friends especially those he met during his stay at Grandview Retirement Home. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Friday 7-9 pm. Funeral service Saturday at 10 am at FAMILIES FIRST 1065 LAUZON RD. East Windsor (519-969-5841). Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
