Lloyd Freeman
Passed away peacefully on March 16, 2011 at the age of 78 years, after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Avis (Tilley) for 40 years. Predeceased by his parents Ethel and Charles. Loving father of David (Sherry) Freeman; step-father of Dr. Don (Trudy) Abrash, Carol (Jim) Carr, Barbara Landgraff (Brian). Proud grandpa of Dillon and Shane Freeman, Rob (Heidi) Fry, Jamie (Farrah) Fry, Brian Fry (Ariane), Heather Fry (Jeff), Jennifer (Justin) Wilson, Michael Streda (Angie), Sarah Landgraff, and Shaun Carr. Dear great-grandpa of Hayley, Samantha, Victoria and (Angel) Nathan Wilson; Brandon and Devon Fry, Laura and Morgan Fry, and Jordan Fry. Lloyd will be missed by his brother Gordon (Gloria), Roy (Blanche) and sister Dorothy Vandelinder and brother-in-law Archie Trojand. Predeceased by sisters Eileen, Shirley and Audrey and brothers-in-law Lawrence, Frank, Jay, LeRoy. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was employed at Wyeth Co. for a number of years before he left to open an electrical business. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy for five years mostly serving in the Pacific. He was a long time member of the Windsor Sportsman's Club and an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors, especially at the family cottage on Manitoulin Island and trips to Florida. He spent many hours with his pet Cleo. The family wishes to thank Dr. Greenaway and the caring staff, volunteers and friends at Huron Lodge Home for Seniors for their help and compassion while Lloyd resided there. If you so desire, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated by the family.
