Lorraine King

Died peacefully surrounded by her family, on February 23, 2011 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of 45 years of Norman. Loving mother of Bill (April) and Mary Katherine. Lorraine was totally dedicated to her family and a source of understanding, strength, and caring for them. For many years, after the death of her father (William, 1967), she tended to her mother, Katherine, until her death in her 94th year (2008). Dear sister-in-law to Edward and Pauline King, Robert Ryall (Norine, 2010), Rosemary Chalmers (Bernard, 2005). Lorraine also touched the lives of many relatives and friends all across Canada. Lorraine was an accomplished and sensitive musician. She taught music in the school system for many years, and found her true calling as a liturgical musician. She was music director at Christ the King Church for nearly 40 years, and in recent years at the newly formed Corpus Christi Church. She loved her choir and regarded them as family, as they also saw her. She was an avid gardener and very fond of her cats. Special thanks to the nurses, physicians, staff, and others who attended her during her journey with cancer. Donations in Lorraine's name may be made to any organization that helps children. Visitation Friday 3-5pm & 7-9pm. Parish Prayers 4pm at FAMILIES FIRST 3260 DOUGALL AVE. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. On Saturday, friends are invited to join the family after 10am followed by Funeral Mass at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (4401 Mt. Royal Dr.). Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The song that is Lorraine will sing always in our hearts.
