M. Leona Hughes

Beloved daughter of the late Pearl (2004) and Thomas (1986) Beneteau passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the age of 88. She will be reunited with her loving husband, the late John Hughes (1989) and her son John Hughes III (2017). She will be dearly missed by her children Karen (Michael) Sklash, Tom (Yvette), Rob (Stephanie), Mary Ann (and the late Stephen, 2016) Marshall, and Jerry (Martha). Special Nana to Sarah (Rod) and David (Katherine) Sklash, John and Marshall Hughes, Ryan (Angela) and Tyler Baroldi, Max (Amanda) and Steve Marshall, and Wesley, Kyle, and Avery Hughes. Great-grandmother to Everett and Leona Marshall, Eddie and Sophie and the late Evan (2015) Sklash, and Hailey and Joshua Baroldi. Sister to the late Agnes and Dick Hartford, Bernie (Winnie) Beneteau, Theresa (and the late Ray) Van Ryckeghem, and Annette (Pete) Simone. Sister-in-law to the late Catherine and Roy Frederick, Francis and Mary Hughes, and Patrick and Theresa Hughes. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Leaves behind many very good friends.

Leona loved life; especially time reading, shopping, with family, meeting friends for lunch, and in her numerous volunteer activities. She loved travelling, especially to visit family or to take a cruise. Planning Mystery Tours for her very dear group of friends was a delight for her. Leona is now taking her final Mystery Tour and we know it is the best one yet!
