Marilyn was born in Bothwell, ON and raised her family in Windsor where she was a member for many years of Westminster United Church and involved with 25th Scout Troop and a Business Agent for the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union, Local 35. Marilyn spent the last 13 years of her life, happily with Don residing in the greater Victoria area. They spent time visiting many of each other's relatives throughout the country, traveling to several western European countries; unbeknownst at the time, their final trip was their August Alaskan cruise with family. When not travelling, she spent time coercing Don in to helping pamper her flower garden, enticing and then marvelling over the many birds that visited the Deane's little sanctuary.

After a short hard fought battle Marilyn succumbed to cancer at Royal Jubilee Hospital. Donations to the Boy Scouts of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place.
