Mary Corrado

From the arms of her loving family, God called Mary home on December 23rd, 2012, at the age of 82. It is with broken and heavy hearts that we sadly announce Mary's passing. Loving daughter of Maria (1991) and Joseph (1946) Aluia. Cherished and devoted Mother to Sandra and the late Mark Rotondi (2003), Linda and Wayne Onstwedder, Dennis and Christine Corrado, and Robert and Andrea Corrado. Adored Nonna to Robert, Sherri, Stephanie, Eric, Sarah, Kristen, Nicholas, Maranda, Jaclyn, and Brandon. Special friend to Ernie Del Pup and Kaitlyn Sheehan. Loving Sister to Gene Aluia, Joseph and Jeannie Aluia, Connie Maiuri and the late Jim Aluia, Concetta and Joseph Aluia. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends also share our loss. Mary was tremendously warm hearted and her entire life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She was truly the heart of our family and left a lasting impression on all those who were blessed to meet her. As we carry on our journey we will always honour her and follow in her footsteps. Mary was an active member of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and although she faced many obstacles in life, she inspired us by continuously maintaining a positive, strong attitude. A special thank you to the staff on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors at Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus for their wonderful care. The transcendent, compassionate staff, doctors, nurses, support workers and volunteers at The Hospice Resident Home made her last few days comfortable and provided a dignified experience for Mary and her family. Donations to the Windsor Downtown Lions Club would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Friday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Friday at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday, leaving at 9:45 a.m. from Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841 to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 804 Grand Marais Rd. for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
