Michael John Karcz

Peacefully on Feb. 9, 2013 in Windsor, Ontario at 80 years of age.

Born July 23, 1932 in Toronto to parents Antoni and Josefa. Moved to Windsor and attended Prince Edward School with his brother Zenon "Zeno". While attending Patterson Collegiate, he excelled in athletics, becoming the first recipient of the Royal Arcanum in 1949-1950. Married in Windsor to Barbara Gray in 1955, he taught at Vaughn Rd. Collegiate in Toronto before returning to Windsor and teaching and coaching at Walkerville for several years, Forster for 25 years, and finishing his teaching career at Massey. Max was a devout Christian and attended Parkwood Gospel Temple. He received many awards during his lifetime including the Sport Achievement Award from the U of W Alumni Sports Hall of Fame.

Max was a respected leader and had a positive influence on the lives of many. He was kind hearted, generous, and always making people laugh. Survived by his three children, Richard (Elizabeth), Alan (Margaret), Gregory, and his grandchildren Margaret-Mae, Emmanuel, Jacob, Emily, Aaron, Dallas, Christopher and Caleb. Also survived by his brother Zenon and wife Ethel. Nieces and nephews Stephen, Kathy, Peter (Pauline), Tom (Eileen), John (Kathryn). In kindness, donations to Parkwood Gospel Temple would be appreciated.
