Cherished father of Eugene (Carol), Donnie, Kevin, Cheryl, Derrick (Jane), Debbie (Woody), Lucy (Richard), George (Lorraine), Lisa, Stephanie (Tim), Melvin Jr. (Kim). Proud grandfather of 37 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by loving parents Reatha and Dave Freeman. Dear brother of Liz and the late Orville "Yubby". Dear cousin of Dodi. He will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, close friends and his church family. Melvin was the senior pastor and Co-Founder of the Upper Room Tabernacle where he preached for over 47 years.
