Patrick Mcgrath
Born on July 17, 1927 in Kilgevrin, Ireland. Passed away peacefully at home, into the loving arms of his parents Patrick & Jane, on December 31, 2012 while surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 55 years of Agnes (nee Murphy). Loving father of Mary Nimmo and husband Maxwell, Gerald, Desmond and wife Monica Kovacs, Fiona and Vincent. Adored grandfather of Sinéad and Micaela Nimmo and Alison and Shaun McGrath. Dear brother of Bridie Talbot, Peggy & Tony Kelly, and Tessie Clarke all of Galway, Ireland. Predeceased by siblings John Patrick, Michael Joseph, Maureen and Kathleen. Brother-in-law of Margaret McGrath, Catherine Goodluck and Christine & Jim McClements. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Ireland, Scotland and England. He was a proud member and former Cultural Director of the Irish Canadian Cultural Club of Windsor and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked tirelessly to establish the Island of Grosse Ille as a memorial to the victims of the Irish Famine. The family wishes to thank Dr. Hamm, Dr. Tatlay, V.O.N. and the Hospice of Windsor for allowing our dad to be cared for at home. Due to the generosity of those who donate blood, our father was able to enjoy a better quality of life. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation or to the Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers and K of C prayers on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Families First 1065 Lauzon Rd. East Windsor, 519-969-5841 On Friday, family and friends are invited to meet at Our Lady of Atonement Parish, 2940 Forest Glade Dr. for Mass at 10 a.m. Cremation at Heavenly Rest Cemetery with interment to follow at a later date in Kilgevrin, Ireland.
