On March 31, 2011 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of 66 years to Hazel (Connell). Loving father of Tom and wife Pauline, Barbara Chandler and husband David, Jim and wife Penilou, Gayle Tait and husband Bruce. Much loved Grandpa of Tracy Golab (Jim), Tim Payne (Kim), Bonnie Chandler, Bryce Chandler (Krista), Valerie Chandler (Matt), Victoria Totten (Colin), Martin Payne (Kasia), Heather Lamar (Lee), Lee Payne, Jennifer Tait, Stephanie Tait and fiancé Curtis, Iain Tait (Silke), Stuart Tait and fiancée Monique, and Great-Grandpa of Andrew, Samantha, Connor, Parker, Mason, Mera, Elizabeth, Hudson, and Tommy. Son of the late Harry and Winifred Payne. Son-in-law of the late Andrew and Hazel Connell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Served as a member of the RCNVR during WWII. Ron retired in 1977 from Chrysler's after 35 years of dedicated service. He was actively involved with his church Emmanuel United Church (Ottawa U.C.). Ron was a member of the Masonic Great Western Lodge.
