Ronald Smith

80 years young, on February 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Alta Turner-Siverns. Dear father of Randy and Lori, Sandra Willson and David, and Pam Redmond. "Papa" will be missed by his grandchildren Christopher, Melissa, Justin, James, Holly, Spencer and Caitlyn. Great grandfather of Angelina, Anessa and Arend. Predeceased by Rose May (April 21, 2012) after 55 years of marriage. Predeceased by his parents Alice (1998) and James (1963) predeceased by his brother Robert (2013). Ron retired from Chrysler after 38 years of devoted service at the age of 55. After leaving his office for only six weeks, Ron was called back as a consultant. He worked three more years in Brampton at the Bramalea Assembly Plant doing training and assisting in the set up of the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Immediately upon his term, he was called back to the Windsor Assembly Plant where he was the Coordinator for a multi-million dollar training program. This lasted another three years. He retired again at age 61.

Ron will by missed by his many E-mail friends to whom he imparted his weekly "words of wisdom" and other groaners. Ron's happiness was mainly in making people smile and laugh. There were jokes and puns every day. Ron was a Duplicate Bridge Club owner, a Bridge Director, a Tournament Assistant Director and an Accredited ACBL Bridge Teacher. He gave Bridge lessons and Directed Bridge games in Windsor, Michigan, Florida and on cruise ships. He was a Lector and Eucharist Minister at every parish he belonged to and scheduled the Lectors, Eucharist Ministers and greeters for every Mass of the year. Ron was an accomplished "counted cross-stitcher" creating many beautiful pictures. He also gave computer lessons to hundreds in Florida. Mrs. Smith's little boy touched the hearts of many.

If you so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of Windsor Essex would be appreciated by the family.
