Shirley Marie Drouillard

Drouillard, Shirley Marie (nee Fitzpatrick)

Peacefully, on March 30, 2011 at Brouillette Manor, at the age of 85 years. Devoted wife and best friend to the late Henry (2004). Dearest mother of Douglas & Pauline of Ottawa, Carol & Nam Le of Sudbury, Kenneth of Windsor, Daniel & Janice of Moncton, Gerald & Deanna of Windsor, and Michael of Windsor. Shirley was a loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sisters Helen Evoy & Vera Cardinal, and by brothers Leo, Raymond, Carl and Orville Fitzpatrick, and in-laws Ray and Antoinette Drouillard and Norm Drouillard. Shirley is survived by in-laws Rose & Paul Gervais, and Madeline Drouillard. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Shirley was a faithful parishioner of St. Theresa, St. John Vianney, St. Alphonsus, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Parishes. She was active in many charitable organizations, and in particular in the formation of and working with the handicapped at the Work Centre for Handicapped Adults. Shirley was also an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 578 and with Henry produced the newsletter for the Branch. Shirley will be sadly missed but never forgotten by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 11:30 am at St. John Vianney Church, 385 Dieppe St., Windsor, until the Words of Remembrance at 12:45 pm, to be followed by a Memorial Mass at 1 pm. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Charitable donations in her name can be made to the local Alzheimer's chapter, a member of Neurological Health Charities Canada (NHCC). A very special thank you to the management and staff of Brouillette Manor, who cared for Shirley in these last few years with loving attention. Arrangements entrusted to Families First 1065 Lauzon Rd. East Windsor, 519-969-5841.
